Where I Create

I'd like to share with you my space that I create in.
I'm joing the "Where I create II Party" @ My Desert Cottage.

I enjoy sewing, scrapbooking, and craft projects for my home and gifts.

I've always wanted a special place or room to do this other than my kitchen table. This past year, after two of our daughters got married, a bedroom was available for this use. It's a small room of 10' x 10', but it works great for me.

Using vinyl lettering, I added words to the wall
...Create, Scrap and Inspire...

all things I do in this room.

I enjoy working at my new desk; and
I've also created accessories to accent the room...
~a note board
~coasters
~ tassels for a lamp
~ a framed scrapbook page of me and my sisters

~tape case made into ink pad holder
~ CD case that holds unmounted stamps in cd cases

Photos of our 6 children @ age 1 were framed and added to the wall art.
My scrapbook supplies are in these cabinets

with magazines stored on the top for easy access.

I refinished Grandma's sewing cabinet which houses my
sewing machine with the sewing machine cover that I made a few months ago.

I would love to have new crisp white wood work and new doors in this room...but
remember I live in a parsonage and have limitations on what I can do.
Have a great weekend!
Joy

  2. What a great place to go and create! I love it!! I have a similar room but not so neat and organized like yours. I have a high table to scrap at, I seem to prefer standing up when I'm scrapbooking. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I love the blue and white that you have in your work room - it looks very calm and soothing. You have really maximized the space well. I really need to do something like that, as I can never find my craft things the way I have them "stored" in the basement.

  5. Hi Joy! Your blog name intrigued me right away! Your name is Joy, married to a Pastor and live in a parsonage. My name is Joyce, I'm married to a Pastor but fortunately, we live in our own home (of course, the church holds the mortgage). I liked seeing your space. The blue walls are dreamy and your things are so organized. I will be reading some of your other posts to get to know you better. This blog party is fun...hope you can stop by for a visit.

  11. Hi Joy-
I think you have done a great job with your limitations. Do you use the closets for you supplies or are they still filled with your children's stuff? I am a new empty nester and am currently dealing with what to do with all the stuff they left. Your new desk is divine, I like the two work surfaces it has. I am a blue lover - so the color you painted the walls looks perfect to me. Thanks for the tour.
    My best - Diane

  21. What a sweet space! You've found a lovely way to personalize a room without making major strutural changes--quite a challenge there.

Love your collage of projects made in your studio - cute & clever way to highlight them!
