Recently, while my mom was at my home visiting, we went to garage sales together. It has become somewhat of a tradition when she visits to do this.
When I was a young girl, I would go with her and my two sisters. We'd go to a town about an hour from our home and make it a spring fling girls day out. It was so much fun to do this with her again and this time including my daughters. Here are a few of my finds from our morning of shopping.
The white teapot will work great
with my collection of white dishes.
I love using baskets for storing items and adding texture while decorating.
The Taste of Home recipe book will be great for those busy days when you want to just throw something in the slow cooker and have a meal ready by dinner time.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun blog...oh the years of parsonage living! Thanks for following me...I'm gonna follow you now!
ReplyDeleteI lived in parsonages all across the eastern/midwestern half of the country and into New England... we may have to share notes sometime. I loved your post about garage sales with your Mom. When my Mom and Dad would come to visit we would visit antique shops and other quaint country places together. We would look for old books by whichever author I was collecting at the time, and old-fashioned hats, antique kitchen gadgets, and just have fun together exploring new places. Since we moved around frequently, there were always new places to check out. I had a white teapot just like yours at one time. I also collect teapots! Thanks for sharing your special finds. It brought back happy memories for me. My mother is with the Lord now, and my Dad will soon be 92...but we have many such memories. Check out my blog for a few such adventures... http://pamelasopenwindow.blogspot.com
