In a previous post on our bathroom(Bathroom Makeover for under $500) , I mentioned that our son lays hardwood floors for his profession and was able to salvage the wood from an old floor. Well, what I didn't tell you is that he also got enough wood to do our kitchen and dinning room. We were short a small amount of the oak wood but we were able to buy some Brazilian cherry ends for a very cheap price.
Here's what we started with...

...the first thing we did was rip out the old flooring.

...then came the sanding and the finish.
...my husband made these finials and added the baseboard.

That's such a transformation. I love the wood "carpet" that he laid in the dining room. We put down our own hardwood in the family room so I have a lot of respect for what hard work it is.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a lot of work! But the floors look so lovely now. This was my first time participating in Show and Tell. Enjoyed stopping by. Sincerely, Susan
