The first exciting event came on July 7th. We became the proud grandparents of our first grandson. We are so blessed to now have four grandchildren; three granddaughters and one grandson.
We planned our summer vacation around his arrival and headed off for a 15 day vacation to Oregon and Washington state. This was a very special time for my husband and myself. We had many things to celebrate, one of them being our 35th wedding anniversary. We decided five days on the Oregon coast would a wonderful getaway for the two of us.
Following the five days in Oregon, it was time to move on to spend time with family and friends in Washington state. This of course included meeting our new little grandson,
and swimming with our cute little granddaughters.
Our son and daughter-in-law from Iowa joined us for the week. As a 35th wedding anniversary gift from our children, we were able to have a family photo taken while were there. Who knows how long it will be before we are able to be together again.
The Lord has truly blessed us!!!
This is what were able to enjoy from our timeshare balcony. You truly can see God's handy work in the sunsets.
We loved spending time with all our children and grandchildren. We also had a wonderful time visiting and catching up with friends.
The time went way to fast and before you knew it we were flying home. We hit the ground running once we were home. We got word that the condo we purchased two years ago (future home to live in once we are retirement age) would be losing the current tenants the first part of August.
When we bought the condo two years ago the tenant moved in the week we closed on the house. That didn't allow for any upgrades at that time, other than a new water heater.
We did an inspection after our current tenants vacated the property. We decided that it was in need of new paint, carpet cleaning and new finish on the window seals. We worked hard and fast at these projects - more details in another post.
We also had the joy of celebrating our church's 100 year anniversary. This made for a very busy but joyous weekend celebrating. It did however take some preparations to prepare for the event, which included helping clean the church and decorating for the dinner. I had the fun of being on the decorating committee. More details to follow in another post showing you the decorations.
This is a small glimpse of what I've been up to the past two months. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and sharing more. Have a great weekend!
You have the same as me...3 granddaughter's and 1 grandson! Your 2 month break looks like you had a lot of fun, hate to see fall come but it's just around the corner!
